CAKE FLAVOR: Carrot Cake FILLING(S): Brown Butter Cream Cheese Frosting OUTER FROSTING: Italian Meringue Buttercream DECOR: Chocolate Ganache, Cadbury Mini Eggs & Buttercream Flowers SIZE: 6" So I know a ton of bakers and cake artist have made this "Robins Egg" cake. But I loved the color and loved the look so I wanted to try it myself. I also saw the wreath look and wanted to try that as well. Lastly, this was the first time I have ever piped buttercream flowers. Overall I am very satisfied with the end design but if I were to do this again, I want to learn how to pipe a different kind of flower. Maybe I would try some ranunculus or peonies.
For the flavor, what screams Easter more than a carrot cake? The cake came out super moist and delicious. To elevate the flavor slightly I made a brown butter cream cheese frosting. The brown butter gave a different depth of flavor that tasted so good. I got a lot of compliments after bringing it to my family party. |
